The Darling Downs Revue has been entertaining audiences for more than 30 seasons since its inception in 1991. Organised by Scouts Australia, Darling Downs Region, our annual theatrical, musical, and variety revue is a dynamic training activity for youth members of Scouts and Guides—offering an exciting way to explore and develop performing arts skills both on stage and behind the scenes.

Performances for 2026

The performances for this year will be held on the following dates:- 

Venue: Graham Centre, Downlands College, Toowoomba

Dates: Friday 26 June 2026 and Saturday 27 June 2026

Darling Downs Revue Cast on stage

If you’re interested in joining either the cast or a support team, you’ll need to complete the online application form.

Application close dates

  • Cast applications close: 1st March 2026

  • Support applications close: 1st June 2026

  • Late applications are only accepted with prior approval

Cast

To join the cast, participants must:

  • Be registered and financial members of the Scout or Guide Association

  • Be attending regular section meetings and activities

  • Be aged 5 to 26

  • (Leaders to age 30 may be considered at Producer/Director discretion)

  • Be willing to work within role allocations appropriate to age and experience

  • Abide by the Scout/Guide Promise and Law, the Code of Conduct, and any conditions set by the Darling Downs Revue Executive Committee

  • All cast members aged 18+ are required to have a Blue Card

Support crew

Support roles include youth members and adults who help make the show happen behind the scenes.

  • Youth members aged 14+

  • Parents and adults (uniformed or non-uniformed) are welcome

  • All personnel aged 18+ are required to have a Blue Card and be a member of Scouts Queensland

  • Paperwork and online training must be completed before involvement

  • All participants must abide by the Scout/Guide Promise and Law, Code of Conduct, and committee conditions

Rehearsal venue

St Anthony’s Scout Den, 124 Stephen Street, Toowoomba

Rehearsal times

Rehearsals are normally held on Sundays between 1:00pm–5:00pm (check the rehearsal calendar).

As show time approaches, rehearsals may run 11:00am–5:00pm, and specialist rehearsals may be added for certain scenes and items.

Camps

We hold two weekend camps before the show to allow extra rehearsals:

  • Camp 1: Wirriglen (Scout Camp Grounds), Highfields

  • Camp 2: St Anthony’s Den

Activity fee

An activity fee of $125 ($25 for crew) is charged which includes the fees/food for the two camps, lunch for the full day rehearsals at the theatre, rehearsal venue hire, rehearsal materials, and other items we may provide.

Uniform requirements

Youth members are expected to supply full and correct uniform for their section:

Scouting

  • Correct section shirt (button-up, not polo)

  • Scout belt

  • Formal shoes

  • Black/white canvas shoes

Guiding

  • Full correct formal uniform

  • Formal shoes

  • Black/white canvas shoes

Wardrobe note

We do our best to dress our cast from the Revue wardrobe, but you may be asked to provide basic items such as jeans or casual outfits.
